The seasons are changing, and I’ve felt it in my spirit too. When fall arrives, I always find myself craving a slower pace—long walks under golden trees, cozy evenings under a blanket, and a little extra intentional time with the Lord.

As November approaches, I’ll turn my heart toward gratitude with projects like Project Gr8ful or Gratitude Documented—two of my favorite ways to commit to reflecting on God’s provision and the countless blessings around me. But first, I wanted to do something a little different for October.

For this month’s Throwback Thursday, I decided to reimagine Kelly’s Fall Pennants kit into a seasonal 10-day devotional banner. Each pennant is paired with a scripture and a reflection prompt, perfect for curling up with my Bible, a cozy blanket, and a warm cup of apple cider (no pumpkin spice for this girl!).

How It Works

Each day, I pulled one pennant, reflected on the scripture, and answered the prompt. Some days I wrote a short prayer. Other days, I simply lingered on the verse while soaking in God’s presence.

As I finished, I strung each pennant onto twine, tied on bits of harvest-colored ribbon, and tucked in extra ephemera pieces from the kit. By the end, I had not just a finished craft project, but a banner full of reminders that God meets me in every season. You can keep the pennants their original size or enlarge them when you print them to make a full-sized banner.

Day 2 – Be Still

  • “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’”— Psalm 46:10 (NIV)

  • “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13 (NIV)

  • Reflection: Where do you need God’s hope to renew your heart today?

Day 5 – Grace

  • “But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” — 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

  • Reflection: How have you experienced God’s grace in your weakness recently?

Day 6 – Jesus

  • “Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.’” — John 14:6 (NIV)

  • Reflection: How is Jesus inviting you to draw closer to Him right now?

Day 7 – Truth

  • “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 (NIV)

  • Reflection: What truth from God’s Word do you need to cling to in this season?

Day 8 – Praise

  • “Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.” — Psalm 100:4 (NIV)

  • Reflection: What is one specific thing you can praise God for today?

Day 9 – Blessed

  • “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!” — Luke 1:45 (NIV)

  • Reflection: In what ways has God blessed you that you want to remember?

Day 10 – Autumn

  • “The trees of the Lord are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.” — Psalm 104:16 (NIV)

  • Reflection: As creation changes, what new work is God growing in you this fall?

Cozy Faith in Practice

By the time I hung the finished banner on my mantle, it wasn’t just fall décor—it was a testimony wall. Each pennant told a story of time spent in God’s Word, and together they became a visual reminder of His faithfulness in every season.

Won’t you spend a little time this October slowing down with me? Print Kelly’s Fall Pennants kit, carve out 10 cozy moments with the Lord, and see what kind of banner God weaves in your own heart. Whether you hang it on your mantle, across a doorway, or in your journaling corner, let it remind you that even in the changing seasons, His Word remains steady and true.
